Messaging & Communications Policy
When you send SMS, voice, or email through Bookable, you are the sender and are responsible for consent and compliance. This policy explains your obligations and what our platform enforces.
1. Scope
This policy covers all SMS, voice, and email sent through the Service, including reminders, campaigns, portal notifications, and messages triggered by your website. It supplements the Terms and Acceptable Use Policy.
2. Your consent responsibilities
You are the sender of the messages you send through Bookable. You must obtain and retain prior express written consent for marketing SMS and calls (as required by the TCPA) and an appropriate lawful basis and relationship for email (as required by CAN-SPAM). You must only message recipients for whom you have a lawful basis, and you must keep records of consent. The Service records marketing-consent details you capture, but you remain responsible for the lawfulness of your messaging.
3. Opt-out handling
- SMS STOP requests are absolute and honored automatically at the carrier and platform level; we block further messages, including replies, to an opted-out number.
- Marketing email includes a working one-click unsubscribe, honored automatically.
- Do not attempt to defeat opt-outs or re-add opted-out contacts.
- Transactional or essential messages are exempt from marketing-consent gating, but an SMS STOP is always honored.
4. Carrier & A2P 10DLC rules
U.S. application-to-person SMS uses 10DLC registration. You must provide accurate brand and campaign registration details (including legal business name, tax/EIN, and an authorized representative), comply with your registered use case, and avoid carrier-prohibited content (including SHAFT categories where restricted) and URL-shortener or “snowshoe” abuse. We may suspend numbers or sending that violate carrier policy or jeopardize registration.
5. Voice & call recording
Where you enable call recording, you must provide any legally required disclosure or consent — some jurisdictions require all-party consent. The Service provides a recording-disclosure setting and a default retention of 365 days (configurable), and recordings are stored in the United States (Amazon Web Services, US East / Ohio region).
6. Email sending
Commercial email must use truthful headers and “from” information, include a valid physical postal address, and honor unsubscribe requests promptly. Managed and bring-your-own sending domains must be properly authenticated.
7. Timing & frequency
Respect quiet-hours and time-of-day restrictions and keep message frequency reasonable. The campaign scheduler supports quiet hours.
8. Enforcement
Violations may result in throttling, number suspension, sending suspension, or termination. We may act immediately to protect carrier standing and messaging registration. You indemnify Bookable for claims arising from your messaging, as set out in the Terms.
9. International messaging
If you message recipients outside the United States, you are responsible for complying with local telecommunications and consent laws.
