Acceptable Use Policy

This policy defines what you may not do with Bookable. It is part of the Terms of Service, and violations can lead to suspension or termination.

Version 1.0Effective July 1, 2026Updated July 1, 2026

1. Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy applies to all use of the Service, including the website builder and hosting and all messages sent through Bookable. It is incorporated into the Terms of Service; a violation is a breach of the Terms.

2. Prohibited content

  • Illegal content, or content that infringes intellectual-property or privacy rights.
  • Malware, or content designed to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to systems.
  • Child sexual abuse material or any exploitation of minors — zero tolerance; reported to authorities.
  • Content that is hateful, harassing, threatening, or that incites violence.
  • Fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading content, including phishing.
  • Regulated goods or services offered without required authorization.
  • Protected health information or other data that would make Bookable a HIPAA business associate — Bookable is not a business associate and does not sign business associate agreements; do not use the Service to store such data.
  • Others’ personal data collected without a lawful basis or required consent.

3. Prohibited conduct

  • Attempting unauthorized access, probing, or circumventing security or usage limits.
  • Circumventing billing, reselling the Service without authorization, or scraping.
  • Reverse engineering, or using the Service to build a competing product.
  • Overloading or disrupting the Service (including denial-of-service activity).
  • Impersonation, or spoofing sender identity or message headers.

4. Messaging & anti-spam

You must have the required consent to message your recipients and must honor opt-outs. In particular:

  • No unsolicited bulk email or SMS; obtain TCPA/CAN-SPAM-compliant consent.
  • Honor STOP and unsubscribe requests; do not re-add opted-out contacts.
  • No content prohibited by carriers, including the SHAFT categories (sex, hate, alcohol, firearms, tobacco) where restricted, and no deceptive URL-shortener or “snowshoe” practices that jeopardize messaging registration.
  • Use accurate sender identity and registration details.

See the Messaging & Communications Policy for detail.

5. Website-hosting rules

  • No phishing, deceptive, or cloaked sites.
  • No content that violates search-engine, CDN, or registrar policies.
  • You are responsible for your site’s legal notices and lawful data collection.

6. Payments

If you collect payments through the Service, you must comply with Stripe’s terms and restricted-business rules, and must not use the Service for money laundering or prohibited or high-risk activities beyond what Stripe permits.

7. Data & privacy obligations

  • Only upload data you are permitted to use.
  • Obtain the consents you need, including for marketing and for call recording where required.
  • Respect your End Users’ privacy rights and do not upload unsupported categories of sensitive data.

8. Fair use & resource limits

Use of compute, storage, and messaging must be reasonable. We may throttle, or require an upgrade for, excessive usage.

9. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and may remove or disable content, throttle, suspend, or terminate access — with or without notice depending on severity, and immediately where needed to address legal, security, or carrier risk. We may cooperate with law enforcement consistent with our Privacy Policy.

10. Reporting abuse

Report suspected violations to contact@bookable.co. Copyright complaints are handled under our DMCA Policy.
